Q: my mac book will not trun on

My mac book pro is not coming on at all .The mod number is A1278 The power cord was pinched and the lights no longer come on. So I got a new power cord and still no power. Please if you have a fix please forward it Thank you

Resetting SMC could solve the problem.
Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support
