Q: Settings > General > Keyboard > Shortcuts Toggle?
I'm running iOS 10.0.2 on both my iPhone 7 Plus and my iPad Pro 12.9.
When I go to Settings > General > Keyboard on iPad Pro, there's a toggle switch for "Shortcuts" below the toggle for "Enable Caps Lock" and above the toggle for "Predictive." (Note that the "Shortcuts" toggle also appears on an iPad Air 2 running iOS 10.0.2.)
On iPhone 7 Plus, however, there is no such "Shortcuts" toggle.
Since, on that same Settings page, both devices have a "Text Replacement" option which you can tap on to enter custom keyboard shortcuts, I have no idea what the "Shortcuts" toggle on iPad is for.
I've done about a million different Google searches and haven't found the answer.
Could someone kindly enlighten me?
Thank you.

Shortcuts are for the tools to the left and right sides of the top of the keyboard that you see here. The iPhone screen is most likely too small to make use of this feature.
Shortcuts for editing text and for pasting from the clipboard.
