Q: Wife & I backup 2 iphones on same mac computer/same itunes account, and we both got new iphone 7's, her pics popped up fine on restore, my phone got all hers

So under my itunes account on our mac desktop, my wife backed her phone up as well.

Today we got new iphone 7s (and both back them up on the mac pc before we went and got the new ones), when we got back she plugged hers in on the mac PC first and it restored fine.

When I tried to restore mine, everything but the the pictures restored properly.

All of her pictures restored on my phone, how can i adjust this?

---

Both are full set of photos are under the photos app on my mac PC.  They are separated and not all in one section mixed in with each other but still all on the one photo app on our mac... but that means i know all her and my photos are there which is good.

So how do I get her photos off my iphone and all mine back on my iphone?  Some kind of copy/paste thing?  Look forward to answers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

iPhone 7, iOS 10.0.2, null

Are you sharing an Apple ID?

On your previous devices, did you have the iCloud Photo Library enabled?

    Hi

Do not use the same apple ID they are not made to share all devices with same ID

Will get all the same information on them

Your your WiFi to backup on iCloud should do this automatically when iphones/ ipads

Are on charge we have 3 iPhones 4 ipads haven't used our pc for them for over

2 years almost everything can be done over your WiFi .

    Cheers

    Brian

No we're not using same Apple ID.  She has her own mac laptop but it's old and space was filled on it so thats why she plugged into our mac desktop and did her back up on there.

Now when she plugged into the desktop it was my iTunes account but itunes still recognized it as her phone. She authorized the mac desktop and did a full backup last week.

On the Mac, the iTunes account signed in is irrelevant to backups,. They are done by the name of the device, not Apple ID.

It sounds like where choosing the backup file to restore from, there were 2. Yours and hers. It sounds like the wrong one was chosen.

On the iTunes application on the Mac with the backups, what do you see for backups when you go to iTunes > Preferences > Devices?

You didn't answer my question about the iCloud Photo Library. it is relevant, because if it was on, photos are not in an iTunes backup.

    Thank you.

My iphone restored perfectly fine except her pictures popped into my photos on my new iphone.  Yes icloud photos was enabled on my iphone.

When i did this ( iTunes > Preferences > Devices), this -->http://imgur.com/xEA37mQ is what popped up.  You see both our recent back ups.  Including the one I did yesterday that I underlined.

Problem was when I tried to restore to that one yesterday, iphone said i had to update the new iphone to 10.02 before updating to previous back up.  Weird thing was I had already updated to 10.02 on the new iphone but it still wouldnt let me choose the most previous back up.  On my most previous back I had the new ios 10.02 on it which is why it was making me update on the new iphone to 10.02, but i already had it on there!

Ok, there is no logical reason for her photos to pop up on your phone unless it's a shared album she invited you to.

Or you are actually sharing an Apple ID for iCloud. This would trigger the iCloud Photo Library to sync to your device, explaining why her photos are there.

No photos would have been in the iTunes backup you created if you had iCloud Photo Library enabled.

Stop sharing the Apple ID. (You did say earlier that you weren't using the same Apple ID.)

This is by design, not by mistake.

When you sign out of the shared Apple ID for iCloud, you will have a chance to remove the synced photos.
