hi,
...Is it worth updating to Sierra ?...Look over the other postings in this Community just for today. So far, I see 9 pages with roughly 20 posts per page, most of them regarding problems. IMHO, I'd change "worth" to "wise."

Oct 2, 2016 12:19 PM in response to Andy Vandenbergheby BobTheFisherman,No problem here with Sierra. Make sure your apps and hardware are compatible with Sierra prior to upgrading. It is always a good idea to backup before upgrading so that you can recover if something goes wrong during the upgrade.

Oct 2, 2016 9:03 PM in response to Andy Vandenbergheby Sebastian AAD,In short no! Even though I looked at compatibility with the apps I use, I ran into two major issues immediately and I'm guessing there are more. For me and my Mac Pro (2013), multiple monitors are not working, boot up literally takes 4 minutes+, and my TB external drive is mounting intermittently.
Edit: Meant to mention, that Sierra is running just fine with my media hub Mac Mini with multiple monitors, so it's really hit or miss. If you can afford to "experiment" with Sierra, have fun. If you need your machine for any business or important reasons, I suggest waiting till Sierra is more stable across the board.

Oct 3, 2016 8:58 AM in response to BobTheFishermanby wobble12,No problem with my updating to "Sierra." I have had no OS updating issues since 2011. I do keep the Power Settings to "Never, " as don't want something to possibly shut off.
Just have a LOT of patience for the downloading and then install on your computer. For me and my DLS 25Mbps speed, it was around 1-1/2 hours for complete install. Good luck!!

Oct 3, 2016 9:28 AM in response to Andy Vandenbergheby dwb,Between home and work I have Sierra installed on 5 computers. One upgrade didn’t go well but stuff happens. I did nothing more than reinstall Sierra which solved it; obviously there was some hiccup during the installation. I do tend to live on the bleeding edge (though to be safe I prepared an external drive with a clone of El Capitan before each installation) and there’s much to be said for holding off for the first update.

Oct 3, 2016 2:11 PM in response to Andy Vandenbergheby silvergc,My installation was painless. Everything works as advertised, even the universal clipboard between my iPad and my MacBook Pro (which I do use).
But, I wouldn't have been in a hurry to upgrade if I didn't already have a desire for the iOS 10 integration. Just remember that people don't post in the forums to say "Hey folks, all went well today!". If your are worried, wait a bit until the dust settles from the first wave of upgraders.
