Oct 2, 2016 4:14 AM in response to plmmipta-Auby Barney-15E,I don't have one available at the moment to check, but try right-clicking on it in the Finder. See if there is an Erase option there like with Optical disks.

Oct 2, 2016 8:26 AM in response to plmmipta-Auby woodmeister50,As far as MicroSD, you need one of the MicroSD->SD adapters.
Looks like an SD card with a hole in it where the MicroSD snaps in.
To erase, once inserted into the reader, you need to go to Disk Utility
to erase or if desired reformat. The second may not be a good idea
if it is used for a camera as some may use older Windows formats.
If you know the proper format, go ahead and reformat.

Oct 2, 2016 9:12 AM in response to Barney-15Eby leroydouglas,I have had problems here before in Disk Utility. The only work a round was to erase/format in my camera, then follow up formatting in Disk Utility.
Crazy making.

However the issue is; Disk Utility with macOS Sierra will not allow erase/format procedure when SD and or microSD memory media is in the SDXC Card Slot
