However if you used a table then you will not have the punctuation:
I obtained 2 by using the formula as shown because you mentioned a calendar. Using a more complex formula you could 'control' how many numbers e.g.1-29, 1-30 etc according to the current month.
If it is easier you CAN enter 1 and then 2; highlight the 2 cells (containing 1 and 2) and drag the yellow dot down as far as you wish to fill say 30 cells.
