Q: Unable to text in zipcode 19526

Hello and good morning , I have updated my Iphone 6 S plus to version 10.0.2 and now I can no longer text an Android phone phone from work . I am a Verizon customer and after updating to ios 10 , I can no longer text  from my work area , I have open cases with Verizon and I message works fine , it is only trying to text message an android phone , when I drive 3 miles away from work I can now text message and Android phone , I have 6 other I phones at work with the same issue all running Ios 10 , I was asked by Verizon to try message plus , which is one of their apps and It works at work , and I have another co worker that has an Iphone 6 and has not updated to the Ios 10 and can still text in zipcode 19526 and he is a Verizon customer as well . After talking with a very rude sales associate at a Verizon store in Hamburg Pa he is saying its an Apple Issue , but Verizon hasnt told me that yet , just wondering if anyone else has this issue ,, thank you and have a good day ...Tim

Texting is a carrier issue. However, while you're waiting for additional information from Verizon, you can certainly try some troubleshooting. The first thing I'd try is to reset your network settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. You'll lose any saved WiFi passcodes but that's all.

This is not *exactly* a carrier issue, despite all the adamant posts that it is... the iOS 10 update reset some of the settings.  Just go to Settings - Cellular - Cellular Data Options - Enable LTE and toggle to either "Off" or "Data Only".

That's still a carrier issue. It means there's a problem in the way the carrier's network is handling VoIP. Turning the feature off is, at best a workaround until the carrier fixes the issue on their end. Turning of LTE completely would be unacceptable to most people.

In this case, because it's limited to a certain area, it probably means there's an issue with either some of the towers or the nearest switch.

I have Verizon and have Voice & Date enabled under LTE and have no problem texting.
