I have sent text messages to several friends. On 2 of them balloons have appeared. That might be ok on a friendly message, but if a person is ill then balloons are not appropriate.
I do not know how to stop balloons when not wanted.

Hello. Just long press the blue send button and a menu wil pop up. Make sure the send with balloons feature is not on in the screen tab. Also, the iPhone automatically adds effects to texts like 'Happy Birthday' etc. Hope to have solved your problem. Cheers 🙂

Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion, and toggle that setting on. This turns off animations on the device.
