I have FaceTime disabled thru restrictions on my daughter's phone. However, she is still able to make and receive FaceTime calls. If it is restricted, how is this happening and is there a way to keep it from happening in the future?

I had the same issue. Then I figured out you must turn off FaceTime in the settings FIRST then go into restrictions and turn it off there as well. If you leave it enabled but just restrict it, it will take away the face time icon but your child will still be able to receive and send calls through the phones call log. Hope this helps.

We monitor her phone and I noticed in her call log history that she had received several FaceTime calls from her friends and the call timeframe showed that she had answered them and talked for a length of time. I then tried to FaceTime her phone from my phone (I had checked to insure that FaceTime was still disabled), and the FaceTime call went thru and I was able to answer it, connect to it from her phone. The FaceTime icon is gone from her phone, but she can still answer calls. I just feel she is too young to video chat, so I don't want her to have access to it on any levels.

Out of the box, the Facetime restriction does both remove the icon and block use.

So unless she knows the restrictions passcode and is toggling it off and on, she must have been given a kludge of some sort to get around the restriction.

If you restrict the camera, that will also block FaceTime and maybe her workaround won't. I would bet blocking her from taking photos will get her attention as well.
