Q: Upgrade to iCloud Drive forced with iOS 10?

Hey everyone!

I have a question that's been bugging me ever since the iOS 10 update is available.

I'm running two Macs on OS X Mavericks and because of various reasons don't want to update them.

Because of that constellation I can't upgrade to iCloud Drive because then I will lose the connection to iCloud with my Macs but I really need it for my work.

Now I wonder if you update to iOS 10 will there be a forced upgrade to iCloud Drive?

None of my friends have this kind of constellation and therefore can't tell me.

Maybe there is some user or someone from Apple here who could answer me this.

Thanks in forward.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.5

If you upgrade to iOS 10, you will not be forced to upgrade your Mac, it will still remain optional for the user; however do note, that all devices should upgrade to the latest software iteration in order to expect for things to run smoothly.

I'm not saying it won't in your case if you neglect to upgrade your Macs, however you may come across the occasional and odd bug or two.

    Hope that helps.

iOS 10 was released a week before MacOS Sierra. I installed both on their release dates and had no problems using iCloud and iCloud Drive during the week I was on iOS 10 and El Capitan.
