Q: Using Reader View.....Help!

I like using Reader View.

But often the pictures go slightly blurry. I have tried waiting a while to make sure the page is loaded but it still happens.

How do I stop this?

Many thanks in advance.

    Try startup in Safe Mode.

Start up in Safe Mode. https://support.apple.com/kb/PH21875?locale=en_US

    Thanks but that didn't work

I have noticed that the top picture in an article shows fine but it is any following pictures that go blurry.

It's a pity because apart from this, Reader View makes an article better in every way. : - )

The only time I encounter this result is when the original image in the article is small and Reader View enlarges it to conform to its formatting, which is understandable as the resolution is just not there in the source. Could that be the case for you as well?

No doubt you know much more than me about this kind of thing but that seems to make sense.

The thing to do is to contact the website directly I suppose......

Hate to say it, but since Reader view hides all the advertisements on a given website, they are not likely to be of much help...

I know but I just emailed them anyway...fingers crossed.

I just thought that perhaps there is another reason for this happening..... The 1st (top) picture is always formatted fine so if Reader View can format that one correctly then why not the following pictures?

The website in question is http://www.bbc.com/news. It is always the same. 1st picture good. Following pictures blurry.

Take a look if you are interested. :-)  I would appreciate your input.

Thanks for the additional details and link. I did some testing with the main story from that link, since Reader view does not work with headline/index web pages. Even when I manually enlarge the page, the photos are of much better quality in normal view than in Reader view.

I am now convinced the issue is with the Reader view, not the website. I will be reporting it to Apple as a bug. You can report it as well via this link http://www.apple.com/feedback/

[BTW, the difference between first and subsequent pictures is that the first one is part of the page resources while the others are loaded from other site sources.]

Great so you have seen for yourself what is going on.

Thanks for the feedback link, I just made a bug report. Not something I had done before. : - )

It does seem like a 'fussy' problem. But BBC News is a very popular site and Reader View is as useful there as it is anywhere. Probably will help many people if they fix it.
