Q: Reproducing apple loop sounds?

I have found some amazing apple loop synth sounds, however, the riff these sounds are playing are not matching to my song ideas. Is there a way with the audio apple loops that I can find out how they were produced and try to recreate those sounds, or will I just have to use vst sounds and try to recreate the sounds by ear?

Well, you could isolate the sounds you want, load them into the sampler EXS24, and play the sounds from there.  Obviously only gives you the very sound from the loop, but if that works for you then you are OK.

If you need different notes, you should transpose the samples for those notes in the Audio editor first so that you avoid the "speed change" issue of playing back samples at a higher/lower speed for different pitches.

Logic X makes this process quite simple.
