Q: Icons order in the menu bar

Hi macOS Community,

I recently updated my OS to macOS Sierra, and I noticed the order of the icons of iStat Menu in the menu bar is not persisted after a restart.

An bug of iStat? It seems no. The Bjango Support says that they are using a proper API provided by Apple to configure the icon orders in the menu bar, and this is no longer working in Sierra...

Is this really a bug of the Sierra API? Is anyone aware of this problem?

Best regards,

You can hold down the Command key to reorder icons in the Menu bar.

I use Bartender to manage my menu bar items. This way I can hide the ones I rarely use in Bartender.

I'm having this exact same problem.  I go through the process of rearranging all of my menu bar items only to discover later they are back to a previous arrangement.  This occurs after a restart or shutdown.  Will this be fixed with a .1 release of Sierra or is something else going on here?  Any suggestions?   I'm not interesting in purchasing Bartender for a feature that was promised with Sierra.

The problem is purely technical, dianeoforegon. I am not talking about how to reorder the icons in the menu bar (quite trivial), and surely nobody can be interested in a 3rd party tool to do that, even if it is able to work around the internal API provided by macOS.

Does exist a way to officially escalate an issue to the macOS support?

Issues discussed here do not get "escalated" to macOS Sierra support. Use th "Contact Us" link at the bottom of this page to contact support directly.
