Q: mac pro 2009 kernel panics

Hi, recently my mac pro early 2009 mac pro running os x 10.11.6 has been freezing and crashing. My computer has a PNY CS1311 960GB SSD with 24GB of ram. It also has apple's ATI Radeon 512mb graphics card. Its been running very well since the upgrade to SSD and 24GB of ram but something has been causing it to freeze up and crash. I believe it may be the macs fan control that I have installed on my computer, but I can't be sure. Can anyone figure out from this what may be causing the problem?

    Run Apple Hardware Test.

Using Apple Hardware Test - Apple Support

You will need one of the original disks that came with the Mac

If you do not have the disk see:

I created the bootable usb disk for the AHT and it said "no trouble found" when I did the standard 3 minute test (not the 1 hour test).

I have removed macs fan control from the computer. That seemed to work for a while until today, where the computer went to sleep and I could not wake it up. A kernel panic occurred but it didn't restart on its own. The report from console says something about the BSD process name corresponding was "SafariCloudHisto." What does that have to do with AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement, which seems to be the cause of the crashes? I did the SMC reset but, that resulted in the computer having trouble connecting to the ethernet.

I don't see anything in your reports that suggests this is caused by anything other that exactly what the reports say. Mac Pro with Xeon Processor has error-correcting memory, so RAM problems do not fester. It looks far all the world like a bad CPU.

The only other thing that comes to mind is a loose Northbridge heatsink, and that usually caused different problems than this. Were you reading really high northbridge temperatures from that temp monitor program?
