Maybe a site coding error in their javascript. Maybe a phishing attempt to get you to click on the link in the message. Try another browser. Try force quitting Safari then while pressing and holding the shift key start up Safari.
thanks Bob. Tried your second suggestion to no avail, not trying the first suggestion (e.g. another browser) as I would prefer to stay with Safari 10
I'm not suggesting you stay with another browser, I'm suggesting you troubleshoot by trying another browser. If the other browser works we will know to further troubleshoot Safari. Then you can switch back to Safari. I suggest FireFox as a test.
sure. shall attempt with Firefox. thanks again
yes Sir! the videos play in Firefox. Would love to 'repair' Safari 10 if I can
because the document's frame is sandboxed and the 'allow-scripts' permission is not set.
this shows up in the console of 'web inspector'
sorry this is the full alert:
Blocked script execution in 'https://www.youtube.com/embed/l73M0mkbtTU' because the document's frame is sandboxed and the 'allow-scripts' permission is not set.
whoops! in Firefox ANOTHER error is coming up on certain videos in the same website as follows:
Error: The value of src is not supported: undefined
Do you have a third party app installed that claims to protect, clean, manage, boost performance etc. your computer? If so, uninstall this app.
would you consider CleanMyMac 3 to be such an app? I can always uninstall and reinstall if no change of course...
Tried uninstalling CleanMyMac 3, no change. I have another 3rd party macro app called 'Keyboard Maestro' - shall try uninstalling this now as well
no - unstalled both those apps, no change
some security setting in Sierra/Safari is 'sandboxing' it appears ....
got it running by installing Adobe Flash Player and emptying the caches ...
thanks and kind regards to Bob for your suggestions
nope! i was hasty ... now running ONLY in Firefox with Flash Player installed,
but Safari bugged out again and the vids won't play with or without Flash Player ...
i can watch the movies in that website ok with Firefox (with Flash downloaded)
but NOT with Safari 10 (with or without Flash). having uninstalled 3rd apps. etc., i STILL get the error (even with JavaScript enabled in Safari prefs):
With Sierra, we understand that Apple locked out Flash (and apparently with good reason ) so i'm surprised more people are not experiencing the same situation that i am - if indeed this is related to the cause (?)
personally i would still be happier be able to see the items of my choice in Safari without having to bother with Firefox...
again, any further help would be appreciated
