Q: OSX and multiple devices

I have an MAC 5K, an iPad Pro, an iWatch and an iPhone 6S, all of which are on my desk.  I have experienced problems with using Siri with multiple devices present and now with Messaging.

The problem with Siri is that all the devices try to respond and its pot luck which one is used.  Tonight I started a conversation with "Messaged" on my MAC, the  conversation was with my son on his iPhone 6.  Then suddenly instead of receiving updates on my MAC, the updates started to come to my iPhone and no longer on the MAC.

After a while it then switched back to the MAC.  This is annoying and frustrating, can't the devices be aware of each other and notify each other which one is in use and therefore block the each other?
