Q: Purchase gone wrong need exchange

So I recently purchased an iPhone 7 Plus 32GB in matte Black, and the next day I went on my trip overseas. After playing with the phone and taking photos the past week, I noticed that 32GB just isn't enough. So I called Apple Customer Support for assistance in an effort to get an exchange for the 128GB model and pay the difference. Apparently the country I'm in doesn't have the iPhone 7 yet nor does it have an Apple Store. To my surprise I was on hold for 20 minutes waiting in the queue. When the rep answered I told him my situation and he had me on hold waiting for another 30 minutes before I was transferred. When I spoke to the second Rep I was told that it's up to the Store Managers discretion of the retail store to over look the 14 day return policy and do the exchange. The second Rep transferred me to the retail store manger of the apple store where I bought the device from to see if he/she would allow the exchange. When speaking to the store manager I was informed because I purchased the device on an installment plan, it's a "hard 14 day return policy" and that I wouldn't be able to exchange the device but rather my only option according to her is to buy another iPhone 7 Plus and pay off both off them. Today is day 7 of having the device. I wouldn't be back to the states until the 13th of the month so I would definitely be outside that 14 day return policy. I asked if calling it in and holding a place would be an option and to try to reason with the manager to allow the exchange and I was not successful.

Is there any possible way to get an exchange done for my particular situation?
