How can I get my 3GS out of recovery mode without losing my precious family photos?

I have a 3gs. Had it a while obviously but its worked fine for me.

I recently decided to update to ios6 because thats as far as I can update to but its gone into recovery mode. I want to get it working again without doing a system restore because I have precious family photos on it. Please help.

PS. NO TIME WASTING CRITICS PLEASE. GET A LIFE. ONLY HELP WANTED AS I KNOW IT CAN BE DONE WITH THE RIGHT SOFTWARE. Which is best?
