Q: Unsupported video format

I recorded some videos at a recent concert and when I got home I realized not all the videos recorded properly. Some are fine, some show a white thumbnail and an error message "unsupported video format." Any tips on converting the format or somehow viewing the videos?

Thanks

iPhone 6s, iOS 10

You did not specify which app you used to capture the video or which computer and OS version you're using.

    Resetting the iPhone never hurts...

If you're on a Mac, launch Image Capture utility from your Applications folder and see if you can use it to import the videos that way. Then double-click on them and/or use QuickTime to convert them, but they might just play fine, too.

    ------

    - Reset: hold down the Home and Power buttons until you see the Apple logo (10-15 seconds).

    - Restore your iDevice: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204184

If your backup is to iTunes, make sure it's encrypted.

The videos were taken on my iPhone 6s (iOS 10) in the standard camera app. In downloading the videos to my computer, the videos did not transfer since the format could not be found. I have reset my phone, but that did not fix anything.

They might be corrupted, or you run out of storage space, but try Image Capture as an import option.
