Oct 2, 2016 11:10 PM in response to philfrombeecroftby den.thed,★HelpfulIn addition to the "Language & Region" plus the "Date & Time" Preference, you should also check your Location Services.
To do that, go to > Apple > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > select the Privacy tab > select Location Services
> unlock the preferences panel > and select System Services [ Details... ]
then in the drop down panel > look to see if the boxes are checked and click Done.

Oct 2, 2016 11:10 PM in response to den.thedby philfrombeecroft,Thank you. Only thing is the setting time zone check box was not there. It has safari and spotlight suggestions and show location icon in tray etc etc but none of what you see above. Anywhere else I could look please?

Hopefully if that IS the case my 'guess' will locate help from someone with detailed knowledge.
