On my iMac my region preferences refuse to be altered from United Kingdom (customised) to Australia. How can I change that? Also with two factor identification it thinks it is in Wembley WA and it is in fact in Sydney NSW. Any clues on how I can resolve this please? Phil

Go to System Preferences and select "Language & Region" and make your choices there.
Also look at System Preferences > Date and Time
In addition to the "Language & Region" plus the "Date & Time" Preference, you should also check your Location Services.
To do that, go to > Apple > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > select the Privacy tab > select Location Services
> unlock the preferences panel > and select System Services [ Details... ]
then in the drop down panel > look to see if the boxes are checked and click Done.
Thank you. Only thing is the setting time zone check box was not there. It has safari and spotlight suggestions and show location icon in tray etc etc but none of what you see above. Anywhere else I could look please?
No matter what I do its reverts back to the UK (customised)....
I'm guessing there is a plist or similar file somewhere that will need to be deleted ... maybe someone knows where you could look for that. Hopefully if that IS the case my 'guess' will locate help from someone with detailed knowledge.
You using an Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection...? A Wi-Fi connection in needed for automatic location and time zone.
Otherwise you can manually select aTime Zone in the Date & Time preference.
unlock the Date & Time preference panel and unchecking Set time zone automatically... box
I have now upgraded to Sierra and the same problem exists. I recall I was in Perth WA when I initially upgraded one of my devices and I included two factor authentication. I have searched Plist files and the only one that I see that might be an issue is this line com.apple.timezone.auto.plist and this dated as 15/11/15. I really have no idea how I can get this resolved, does someone please?
