Oct 2, 2016 11:10 PM in response to philfrombeecroftby den.thed,★HelpfulIn addition to the "Language & Region" plus the "Date & Time" Preference, you should also check your Location Services.
To do that, go to > Apple > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > select the Privacy tab > select Location Services
> unlock the preferences panel > and select System Services [ Details... ]
then in the drop down panel > look to see if the boxes are checked and click Done.

Oct 2, 2016 11:10 PM in response to den.thedby philfrombeecroft,Thank you. Only thing is the setting time zone check box was not there. It has safari and spotlight suggestions and show location icon in tray etc etc but none of what you see above. Anywhere else I could look please?

Oct 2, 2016 11:18 PM in response to philfrombeecroftby pamfrombalwyn,I'm guessing there is a plist or similar file somewhere that will need to be deleted ... maybe someone knows where you could look for that. Hopefully if that IS the case my 'guess' will locate help from someone with detailed knowledge.

Oct 8, 2016 3:11 PM in response to den.thedby philfrombeecroft,I have now upgraded to Sierra and the same problem exists. I recall I was in Perth WA when I initially upgraded one of my devices and I included two factor authentication. I have searched Plist files and the only one that I see that might be an issue is this line com.apple.timezone.auto.plist and this dated as 15/11/15. I really have no idea how I can get this resolved, does someone please?
