Q: Logic Pro: Skype podcast use & distortion issue

Just upgraded to Logic Pro X. I have a good working knowledge of audio issues, but this one stumps me. Using the program for radio show/podcast production, doing shows straight to "tape". Interview are done via Skype. Have Skype inputing on 2 tracks. Track 1 is my voice thru the mic, Track 2 is Skype guest. My input is crystal clear. Skype input is clear for a few seconds and then dissolves into occasional static and almost high frequency distortion. Goes in and out like this. Have tried increasing the buffer size to no avail. Using Soundflower 2CH as the audio pass-thru. Would appreciate ideas on how to clean this up as I know it works, has to be a setting somewhere. Thanks.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

How are you grabbing the Skype output? Straight from Skype into Logic?

The artefact sounds like a sampling rate mismatch, synchronisation issue or codec incompatibility.

A simple workaround would be to grab the audio out through the headphone jack on your computer, then use that as a line input into the audio interface. (adding a splitter would allow you to listen through headphones in parallel)

That should eliminate any codec incompatibility issues. Audio quality through headphone jack is limited (as you probably know), but I assume that's not an issue for a Skype interview recording.
