Screen saver run speed in turbo.

Using mac OS Sierra.

The screen saver works sometimes but the graphics are running at turbo speed. The built in Quartz graphics especially Arabesque is running way faster than that it used to under El Capitan. It used to run very smoothly and even serenely. But now it is very frenetic.

I have also noticed while having the System Preferences open on the Screen Saver tab the CPU is running at up to 32%.
