Q: Contacts glitch with Siri?

On the Mac, Siri works just great in Sierra OS EXCEPT she insists on calling me my husband's name.  When I first corrected her, she said "since we're friends now, I will call you "Dee" instead of Bob."  I suppose that's fine except I hate that my name is in quotes now, like I'm running under an alias, and if I say "Call husband" she gets a little snappy with me.  I have checked and my card is selected in contacts, I am the administrator, my name is on the home page in the upper right corner.  My husband is a windows user (relegated to our basement!) and I don't think he's ever touched this Mac.

How to I shake Siri into understanding that it is NOT BOB!!!

Have Bob hiding in the basement or make him leave the house while you are using the machine. Another solution would be to cut all contacts with Bob.

While I would love to send "Bob" packing, that isn't going to happen.  He has never touched this mac and I truly need to get his name out of Siri's vocabulary.

Are you sure that under Contacts the right contact is set as "Me"?

Select your contact in Contacts, and do Card->Make this My Card.

It should show a little icon next to it:

Oh, and if you add a nickname to your card in Contacts, Siri will call you by that nickname too.

Yes, I have the little icon next to my card in Contacts.  I am listed as the administrator.  My name is everywhere and his is nowhere to be found.  What did Siri reference to even find his name?  Should I delete his card and reboot?

I just tried something...I renamed Bob's contact card to Tony, closed Contacts, and asked Siri my name.  She again said "you're name is Bob but you said I could call you Dee."  And she shows me a contact card with Bob on it.  WHERE IS THAT COMING FROM?

Strange indeed... it seems that there is come corrupt cache somewhere that Siri is getting its info from.

Try restarting in Safe Mode, and then restarting normally again.

I'm giving up!  Tried to reboot in safe mode then regular method and "Good morning, Bob".  BOB'S CARD is gone!  Siri evidently grabs whatever information she wants.  I said "My name is Dee" and she showed me my card but won't allow a change in "ownership".  WHAT A BUG!!!!

    Sure appreciate all the suggestions!

Try this: in Contacts, change your card to something else (select someone else's card in contacts, choose "Make this my card"), then change it back. Maybe it will clear things and make Siri notice.

FWIW, I am not sure the problem has anything to do with Siri proper.

I suspect it to be a setting for Contacts that got stored wrongly somehow, and that Siri is picking up; so the method above is another attempt to "set the record straight", so to speak.
