Thanks for you using Apple Support Communities. I can see from your post that you're having issues with Wi-Fi disconnecting when your iPhone 6 is not in use while running iOS 10 beta. The public version of iOS 10 has been released with the latest version being 10.0.2. In order to properly isolate and help resolve this, we'll want to go ahead and get you updated to the final release with the steps in this link below:
About iOS beta softwareDownload the final version of iOS
If you have an iOS beta version and want to download the final version, follow these steps:
- Connect your device to iTunes.
- While your device is connected, force it to restart. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. Don't release when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding until you see the Recovery Mode screen.
- When asked, choose Update to download and install the latest nonbeta version of iOS.
An update install won't affect your content or settings.
Once you've downloaded the final version, monitor your Wi-Fi again and let us know if you experience same issue.
Cheers. -
Oct 4, 2016 7:16 AM in response to raianby KiltedTim,It did not just start doing that... It's always done that. It's by design. The WiFi radio is powered off if the device is in standby mode and not connected to an external power source. If it didn't do that, your battery life in standby would be severely reduced.
