Currently purchased new 6s. My list of purchased songs appear on list but unable to download some of them. Need ideas on how to get this done.

What happens when you try to download the songs? Are they greyed out, do you get an error message, does the download appear to start but never progress?
The cloud appears but is red and gives error message when tapped.
What does the specific error message say?
Item not available. This item can't be played.
Let's disable and then reactivate Apple Music on your phone.
Do not have Apple Music/toggle button to turn off ICloud library. It ask only to join Apple Music.
Do you currently have Apple Music, or are you just having trouble syncing your purchased items from iTunes?
If you have Apple Music, it sounds like you aren't logged in on the new device. Logging in should restore them.
If the music is on iTunes on your Mac or PC, can you connect your iPhone and do a sync to add the missing music? Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support
Do not have Apple Music. Will look to try and sync and see what happens. Thanks for input.
