Controls for Music & iBooks Apps in Locked Mode

Good day All and thank you for reading my post.

I walk quite a bit every day and one of the things I enjoy is listening to books or music while I walk. However I am experiencing a problem I would like some help with. I have an iPhone 6s Plus and I usually put it in my back pocket while I walk.

It is a constant annoyance when a song or book stops or skips to the next item randomly because something has triggered a control while being in my pocket and the phone is in locked mode.

Is there a way to turn off the controls when the phone is in locked mode?
