accidentally moved all songs out of organized folders

Hi all,

I accidentally moved all my songs out of their organized iTunes folders.

The songs are all still in the Music folder, but now are loose in there, and all their folders are empty.

I find that all my songs are still playing fine, but just am not sure if maybe I should somehow get iTunes to put them all back (?)

I have since restarted my Mac and reinstalled an .itl for it, so not seeking an undo, but rather some organizing method that would not risk messing up its perfect current functionality.

Any ideas on this?

Thanks!

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

I think probably the best thing to do would be to drag them to the Automatically Add To iTunes folder.

iTunes 9: Understanding the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder. - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3832 - Files put into this folder are actually moved from this folder to the correct location in the iTunes Media folder.

Items already in the iTunes library listing are not entered a second time.
