Apple cables are covered under Apple's One-Year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, but not against accidental damage or misuse.
Contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation to arrange for the cable to be checked by Apple and, if eligible, replaced under warranty (proof of purchase may be required):
