Q: Question about TV show HD vs SD pricing - why is the price the same for the season pass?

It used to be that season pass prices for TV shows were different for HD and SD. It seems lately that they are the same. For example, I'm looking at Madam Secretary, Season 3, which just started and the season pass is $34.99 regardless whether I click the SD or HD tab.

Is this an error, or a new policy, or a case-by-case, show-by-show decision? Anybody know?

I usually watch purchased shows on my MacBook Pro's external 27" monitor, and SD is perfectly sufficient for that. But it has me curious. Especially since the per-episode price is different for SD and HD.

The prices are set by the TV studio/rights-holder, it's possible that for some reason they've decided to set both HD and SD versions at the same price (or that they've made a mistake)

It seems odd if they decided to set the HD and SD versions at the same price that they would only do that for the season pass and leave them different on per episode purchases. I sort of wanted to purchase the season, but not if it's a mistake and the SD season pass will cost less tomorrow. I sent an inquiry to iTunes support to ask them.
