Q: Touch ID went away

I Have an iPod touch 6th generation that has always had a perfectly functioning touch id login option using my fingerprint until I updated to iOS 10. It no longer showed up as an option and the 10.2 update has failed to bring it back as well. This makes absolutely no sense...very confused as my iPhone 5s did not have the same problem with the update and this 6th generation is better and newer technology than the iPhone 5s and has the same A9 rocket chip as iPhone 6s do

iPod touch, iOS 10.0.2

No iPod touch have touch ID. Only later iPhones and iPads have touch ID.

iOS 10 to add that you now have to press the Home button to get to the screen where you enter the screen lock passcode. No more slide to unlock
