Q: iPhone 7 Audio Cut Out (Music still plays)

Hello,

I've been using my iPhone 7 Plus mostly for audio recently with either the 3.5mm adapter with my Sony earphones and more recently Omar's lightning earphones.

The problem I've had is the audio will stop coming through to the earphones but it keeps playing on the iPhone 7 Plus regardless. I've noticed it seems to happen if I get the slightest build up of static say walking along with socks on the carpet or touching something metal. This wasn't a problem with my iPhone 6 Plus and as you can imagine is quite annoying.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Community! I understand you're having trouble with your headphones not playing any sound even though it continues to play on your iPhone. I like to listen to music on my iPhone throughout the day, so I can understand wanting to make sure your headphones and audio are working as expected.

If you haven't already, I recommend to start with restarting your iPhone and any wireless headphones that you may use.
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

I also recommend to take a look at the steps in the article:
If your headphones don't work with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
