Q: Accidentally downloaded adware, scanned computer, reset browser, tried different networks, cannot make it go away!
Well, I made a rookie mistake. While in Chrome, a pop-up came up telling me my flash player was out of date. It looked like Adobe Flash, so I stupidly downloaded it. Obviously, it wasn't flash. And now my computer has incessant pop-ups and adware. I've scanned with Malwarebytes and removed the adware it found. But it has not resolved the problem. I reset Chrome and Safari. I deleted all unrecognized applications. I've tried scanning my system manually and deleting possibly related files based on associated names and/or date created. Nothing has worked, though. Malwarebytes no longer finds any adware when I scan. But this is still an issue. And it seems to have become more pervasive and frequent. I'm concerned about it tracking my key strokes or stealing access to my pertinent information. How should I resolved this issue and protect my information?
