Unable to select file in the save dialog in Sierra

I'm unable to select an image file when 'Saving For Web' in the 'Save As' finder window in Photoshop CC running on Sierra.

There are times when I need to save a new image using a similar name by selecting the existing file, which matches the name in the 'Save As' dialog field.

Using Photoshop CC under Sierra I'm unable to do so because of the inability to select existing files in the Save-as finder window.

I was thinking at first that was from Adobe but later I noticed that I can't save from web browsers and other programs. I installed both beta updates on Sierra but also that didn't fixed it. I hope to be fixed so I can upgrade to Sierra. There wasn't such problem in the previous versions.

Unfortunately your discovery is correct. I just encountered it for the first time. I was shocked but apparently in list view it will work. Thumbnail view no for some reason.

In addition to Stephen's observation, another poster found that you can drag the icon to the name field to replace the text.

At this point I'm not certain this is a bug, but a feature given that you can drag it in. I have often accidentally replaced the name as I clicked through the folder structure, so it could be a way to prevent such things. In List View and Column View it seems a bit more difficult to accidentally do it, but it still happens, so not quite sure of the etymology of the bug.
