Poor wifi performance on iPhone 7 Plus

Has this been addressed anywhere else as this is an old thread? I had to log off of my wifi just to get the page to load to get here. I am chewing through my data because of it. I have tried all of the steps mentioned in the recommendations. Completely wiped my phone and started from scratch and still have the problem. No I don't want to run with Siri turned off or with my location settings turned off, but I want my wifi to work.

No problems with the 7+ WiFi with my phone or others. Works at least as well as the 6s. Does this happen in all locations or just with your home router? Try updating the router firmware or replacing it.

Why is this problem only happening on everyone's home wifi? Out of 4 iPhones and 2 itouches in our house I am the only one with speed issues. I am getting download speeds of 0.34. My family is averaging 64.5. I have been to the Apple Store, done a factory reset, forgotten the wifi and added back in, reset the modem, etc. This *****. It works fine at work or anywhere else.

This is going to sound nuts but if your router is dual-band, try 5 Ghz. Yes, I know it has shorter range but I found my iPhone 7 has issues with ALL 2.4 Ghz wi-fi. It seems to be software related as a new phone but restored from backup still had the problem. A clean install solved it for months but it looks like it's come back for me. 😟

I have the same issue, but it's happening everywhere. I spent an entire day last week at an Apple Store and 'there's nothing wrong with the phone, so we will send it out for service.'

Long story short: I never sent my phone as I had serious SIM issues with the loaner phone.

Iphone 7plus wifi problems. Go into Settings. Go into Cellular = go into Cellular Data Options = Enable LTE.

Go into Settings again = Go into Phone = go into Wi-Fi Calling enable wi-if calling. You've got to provide your address where 911 emergency help will arrive if it's called for. Apparently Apple does not set this feature up for you on this phone as it did in the past.

I did everything mentioned in previous posts including calling the wireless tech support. He made sure my modem was configured with latest firmware....still slow. I ended up simply resetting my “Network Settings” back to factory defaults and then signed back on to wireless with P/W. Seems to have solved the problem for now.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I see from your post that you and your wife are having Wi-Fi issues on your new iPhone devices. I know that I depend on my Wi-Fi network for all my internet needs while at home. I will be more than happy to see what we can do to help.

I know that you said that both iPhones are having issues, while nothing on the network has changed. Great job on the steps you’ve taken so far. Take a look at this article:

In particular steps 5 and 6, you can ignore the parts that you’ve already done so far. Then check the information under “Get more help”

I have that too. Try to increase the span of the wifi and increase the speed. I found that it helps for me

How do you solve the issue? I have the same problem with new iphone 7.. on my old iphone 6 didnt happen..

It happens with some routers.. if you disconnect and reconnect it works OK..then again..it drops..

for example..some apps fails to download.. or last too long!

same here... just wiped ..everything the same...

As suggested, try updating router firmware.

I have the same problem with iPhone 7. It is very slow on wifi. I did try many different wifi in different places, and I am sure it is the phone.
