Q: Safari 10 Update issue

Hi there-

I am unable to restart my Macbook Pro to complete installation of the Safari 10 update.  It never restarts.  Any suggestions?

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

    Hello, paulafromleawood!

It appears that your update of Safari 10 isn't progressing quite as it should on your MacBook Pro on OS X 10.11.6. I'll be more than glad to help complete that installation.

How to turn on or turn off your Mac -- Use the power button instead of the menu.

Or hold down the power button for up to 3 seconds, until your Mac asks whether you're sure that you want to shut down your computer now. Click Shut Down.

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn‘t finish starting up -- Safe mode will tell us if the issue is related to a startup item or plugins, and sometimes may be necessary to correct some problems. If neither of these steps have helped, provide a bit more information such as any alerts or messages you're receiving.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities and have a great day!
