Q: How do I speed up my internet connection with a Power Mac 8 when using ATT-Verse?

My system has a built in Ethernet that it is using, but the hardwired Ethernet internet connection to the Power Mac 8 is very slow but not the wireless connection to any of my other Apple devices.  Please help.

    Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...

    10.5, 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8…

     

    System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.

     

     

    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x/10.8.x instructions...

     

    System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.

     

    The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

     

    For slow page loading, try this...

     

    For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8/10.9 > Network Pref Pane, highlight Interface>Advanced button>DNS tab>little + icon.

     

    Try putting these numbers in...

     

    208.67.222.222

    208.67.220.220

     

    Also, turn off IPv6:

    System Preferences » Network » Ethernet » TCP/IP tab » Configure IPv6

     

    Or whatever Interface you use.

    Can you confirm that "OS 10.4.11" in your equipment profile is correct? I'm also not sure what  a "PowerMac 8" is. Some clarification might help.
