Epson Driver 3.2 not work in 10.8.5

You would have to check Epson's website. Printer manufacturers make the printer drivers, it is possible Epson dropped support of that device some time ago, if that is the case you would have to look for a generic driver. One place to search is the Gutenberg Project at http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php

Try resetting your printing system, as per > OS X Mountain Lion: Reset the printing system

I found the Epson v3.1 drivers on the Apple site:

HP Printer Drivers v3.1 for OS X

but not 3.0. The accompanying article says it is for OS 10.8 Mountain Lion and OS 10.7 Lion.

Wrong! Apple does not make any printer drivers. They are all supplied by the printer manufacturers who know their products best. At some point the manufacturers stop developing drivers on old printers. This can be because they want you to buy a new device or something as simple as all the developers that supported that old printer have moved on to greener pastures.

The manufacturers then supply drivers to Apple who then incorporates them into updates for printers. I suspect that is what you might be thinking of.

However, follow Dennis's suggestion and reset the printing system.

Looks like the Epson Color 740 was only ever supported in 10.6

Think that I would contact Epson Support and see what they suggest for a print driver.
