Cannot sign into my iMessage or FaceTime

My iMessage and Facetime were both acting funny so I proceeded to signing out. Once I did I attempted to log back in and it told me that it was "Unable to contact server. Try Again" I have tried again multiple times and it simply isn't working. It's not my internet connection because it works perfectly on every other device. However I don't know what to do.. (by the way, my device is an iPod 5th generation).

iPod touch, iOS 9.3.5
