Q: MacBook Pro shuts down when battery is 75%

I have a MacBook Pro (late 2012) that shuts down when on battery power and the percentage reaches 75% (sometimes higher, like 80%). The battery needs a service but I understand that impacts the length of charge not when the computer shuts down.

I have tried a full reinstall of the OS and reset to default settings but it didn't help. Is there something else I can try before I send it in to Mac Store for a diagnostic? Have I missed a setting somewhere?
