Q: Apple mail sync problem
Dear All,
Since upgrading to Mac OS Sierra, I have noticed that there is a problem with the sync of my IMAP gmail account on the Apple Mail on my MBA (details of the configuration attached below).
The problem is that there is about 95 less email in my Apple Mail.
This problem is not found on my Ipad, Iphone and the online gmail account that properly synced.
I have tried the following troubleshoot, but to no good result. It is important to note that I troubleshooted all below with the call support from Google and from my IT technician.
- Delete and re-install the email account on Apple Mail.
- Tried a new mail app, Thurnderbird and the sync was properly done
- Logged out and went on a different user on Apple Mail: same syncing problem noticed
- I tried to log in my IMAP details on a Mac Book Pro that was still using El Capitan: the syncing was still going on the Apple Mail.
In conclusion, it is clear to me that there is a bug in the Mac OS Sierra/ El Capitan version of Apple Mail that does not allow it to properly sync the emails.
Grateful for your feedback and any work around, while still using Apple Mail.
Best regards,
Christian
