Q: mac pro videocard

Hi,

I have a Mac Pro (early 2008) which still runs very rapidly (faster then my 2015 macbook pro).

My videocard broke though, and i have it replaced by an NVidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti.

Only now everytime OS needs an update it does not recognize the videocard en i have no screen. I need to get an old graphics card, get my screen back, and select the Nvidea again.

My question is: Is there a way (via Firewire / USB to HDMI / Screen sharing with other mac) to get into the screen of my mac and activate the graphics card?

THanks!

Yes, you can use Apple's Screen Sharing.

Is the problem that new drives are required for the card after an macOS update?

If so wait until the drivers are available before updating.

I have a PC graphics card in my 2009 Mac Pro and frequently after an update I get message that I need new/updated drivers. That is an immediate problem for me since I also have the original GT 120 card installed

I am not sure, as the company i bought the card from everytime solved the problem. But then they have it 2 days everytime i need to update...

I am just hoping screen sharing does not use the drivers of the graphics card then...

You can use screen sharing even without a graphics card installed but resolution is very low
