Mac OS X
Q: Icon trails when switching between desktops in Sierra
I've noticed some display issues since updating to Sierra. I can see some icon trails when switching between desktops as well as a 1px line of random colors on the right of the screen that seems to be leftover pixels from the desktop switch as well.
Here's a screenshot: https://cl.ly/hegc
Here's a video showing the icon trails: https://cl.ly/hef9
Is anyone else seeing this or know how to fix it? It's rather annoying.
Thanks in advance,
Brent

Hello Brent Spore,
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Community. I know how important it is to keep your Mac running as expected, and I'd like to help. Whenever we see behavior like what you've described it's a good idea to test the symptoms in a separate user and in safe mode. This will help us determine if the icon ghosting is related to an issue with the user account or if it's a system wide issue. The articles below will guide you through those steps.
How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac
Try safe mode if your Mac doesn‘t finish starting up
If the ghosting still occurs in safe mode, then we know it's a system wide issue and I'd recommend backing up your Mac and reinstalling macOS using Recovery, as described in the articles below:
How to reinstall macOS
If the behavior persists, or you run into any trouble, the entire community is here to help.
Best Regards.
