macOS sierra in combination with hp photosmart 6520

Hi I have problems with this printer when I try to print a document a get the wheel of death on the printer saying it is connecting and then nothing happens or it prints out 24 hrs later, also scanning is a major issue when I try to scan a document it will either scan and you here the printer scanning and then cancels the scan, I read an article and downloaded separate scanning software HP Easy Scan and the same issues it's just so frustrating, don't HP take a MacBook and test their equipment with Mac? Now I am stuck with an all in one printer scanner that I can do nothing with, any ideas anyone, my Mac is running version OS Sierra 10.12.4

Well all went well with the install and even test printed and scanned a doc at the end, then when I try to print something after it states printing on the printer and on my Mac is states connecting to printer then after waiting 4 to 5 minutes it cancels the print job so back to square one again.

That includes delete the printer and setting it up anew.

does it work when connected via USB?

What happens when you try to scan and save a document?

I have same printer and no issues. Go to preferences, printers and delete the printer. Then reinstall. Be sure to pick AirPrint during the setup.

I have exactly the same experience. Worked one time only. Next day back to square one i.e. not printing without USB connection.
HP driver update doesn't work (OS 10.12 Mavericks, but not Sierra)
