I have an Iphone 6 Plus and the live wallpaper does not show whilst the phone is locked. I was under the impression that the wallpaper automatically shows when phone is locked without having to press the screen for it to animate.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It looks like you have some questions about how Live Photos are displayed on your lock screen and I'd be happy to provide some details regarding this. As it turns out, Live Photos effects appear when the lock screen is pressed. The link below has some information about how live photos are displayed on your iPhone 6 Plus.
Live Photo: If you press the display while on the Lock screen, the wallpaper will animate. You need an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus to use Live Photo.
