Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It looks like the Compass app on your iPhone 5 SE isn't calibrating after updating to iOS 10. This looks like a problem that we can troubleshoot.
First, try removing and reinstalling the Compass app using the steps in Remove built-in Apple apps from the Home screen on your iOS device with iOS 10.
You may want to restart your iPhone between deleting the Compass app and reinstalling it from the App Store--Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
If the same thing happens after reinstalling, try toggling Location Services off and on again at Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
You can also try toggling the Compass Calibration setting specifically, by going to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services.
Let us know if these steps help and we can offer some additional steps.
Sincerely. -
Oct 5, 2016 12:47 PM in response to sterling rby derekfrombeverley,I tried all that and it has made no difference. I also tried two other compass apps and none worked correctly. Shame - not a massively useful tool but it did provide orientation - with emphasis on did!
