Q: How to install windows 8.1 using boot camp on os sierra
Im trying to install windows 8.1 64bit on to my late 2011 MacBook Pro using boot camp.
i Have downloaded the ISO file from Microsoft and it saved in downloads.
i Start boot camp and it has 2 checked options which are: Download latest windows support software from apple and the other is install or remove windows 10 or later version.
im not sure why it says windows 10 as it isn't compatible with my earlier mac. either way I check both options and then bootcamp downloads all drivers and saves them to my 32GB usb stick.
it then asks me which hard drive to partition and I choose but then it says it can't find the installation file. I've tried opening the folder so it's mounted but nothing works. I thought it's meant to tell you what to do?
thanks for any help
MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), macOS Sierra (10.12)

A 2011 Mac needs a physical DVD to install Windows and needs to use the built-in Optical (CD/DVD) drive. You cannot use an external CD/DVD drive.
Please burn the ISO to a DVD-R SL and and then click on the Install option only.
