Q: Problem printing single page PDFs via iBooks and Adobe Acrobat

Since today (4 October 2016) on both my new iPhone 7 (iOS 10.0.2) and existing iPad Pro 9.7 (iOS 10.0.1) when I try to print out a single page PDF from within iBooks, Adobe Acrobat or the native e-mail app, as soon as I press the Print button, these apps crash after very briefly showing the pre-print preview. The problem doesn't occur when I print a multi-page PDF. A handful of single page PDFs do print OK, whilst others appear "washed out" in the preview view, but still print out.

I am also able to print out webpages (via the Safari app) and any of my photos.

Anyone else having the same problem? Until today, I had no problem printing anything.

I'm printing to an HP Envy 5530.

Hi timdrewitt,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. I see that when you try to print out a single page PDF from iBooks, Adobe Acrobat, or Mail, as soon as you press the Print button, those apps crash. They only crash when you are trying to print one page though, not a multi-page PDF.

Since you are having an issue with printing from these specific apps, I would suggest force closing each of these apps, and then restarting your iPhone. Once you've done both, please test again and see if you get the same result.

Thanks for that suggestion. I have just done this, but it has not resolved the issue.

I have also now discovered that the crashes also happen with much longer PDFs, e.g. brochures and ebook extracts.

There are however a couple of single page PDFs that do successfully print.

I have also been able to successfully print ALL the PDFs that I have on my work iPhone 6, including those that I still cannot print from my iPhone 7 and iPad Pro 9.7.

Thanks for trying those steps.

Since this just started happening, we would suggest backing up your iPhone's important data, and then restoring the iPhone to factory settings and testing to see if you get the same result.
