Q: Boot Camp El Capitan Windows ISO Thumb Drive
Installing Windows 7 with a thumb drive already configured as a windows installation drive, Boot Camp did not recognize the presence of the thumb drive and asked for installation media. I inserted the DVD and it started installing.
Is it possible that the thumb drive procedure is no longer needed or did I get lucky/unlucky?

If it does not have W7 Apple Pre-boot drivers, it will not work.
