iPhone 6 Plus hang freeze issues

My iPhone 6 Plus keeps hanging (freeze) for past 6 months, I have to reset the whole phone sometimes up to 2 times just to get it to work again. Been a loyal custome (incl my whole family) since gen 1 iPhone, iPads , mac book. Am truly disappointed with the quality now. Didn't bring to service center since day one of the problem because I thought was just some bugs & was sure apple will fix it, but after numerous upgrade of iOS till now, the problem still pesisit.

iPhone is no longer the quality I once knew, hope apple can rectify this issue before losing more loyal customers eventually

From what I read here and therem and in another posts and forums, I begin to really believe that the iPhone 6 Plus (especially the 128GB versions) had real PCBA manufacturing design issues in their mother boards and memory components (quality) or soldering assembly. And this is totally apart from the iPhone 6 Plus bending issue due bad housing structural and softer alum alloy (series 6000) on iPhone 6/Plus generation.

Unfortunately the device is already 'quite old' (for Apple point of view; not for us, of course; nor for all the users who even paid the full amount for an unlocked version outside USA), and Apple will not do anything beyond that. I presume that Apple is aware, maybe also they already fixed the HW and all mechanical weakness flaws in the next iPhone6s Plus generation; but for the few users (comparing with the millions of iPhone's sold every year) who are suffering these iPhone 6 Plus HW manufacturing damage, Apple will not react nor take full coverage of it.

In the best case, if you are lucky, you will be offered by AppleCare to get a refurbished same model for the price listed here:

As said, very dissapointing for all Apple fan lovers since years, but we are hitting the hard wall of current Apple reality. And doesn't matter how much fuss we make here, or in another fan forum, because our voice is so little that nowadays Apple doesnt care at all anymore about the possibility of losing few hundreds or thousands of loyal customers since years.

My whole family is using IPhone 6, 6 plus, and some of my team members also using the iPhone. Everyone is complaining the same issue. Our IPhone is keep on hanging and we tried all ways, but no use. Please don't buy apple products. They are seating the people and they need to sell their latest one in the market. I hope we are facing the issue after upgraded the IOS.

Hello BennyFoo,
Thanks for bringing up your iPhone freezing issues here to the Apple Support Communities. I understand how important it is to have a reliable phone. I am happy to check this out with you.
The first thing we want to ensure is that all your data on your device is safe. You can make a backup in iCloud or iTunes using this article : How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Once your data is safe, try to turn your device off, then back on again. Sometimes, that is all that is necessary to get all the connections reset and everything working properly again. This help article from Apple will assist you to do that: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If you are still experiencing the same issues, try the force reset next. It is designed to be used when the iPhone is unresponsive, and it sounds like that is the exact symptoms you are experiencing at this time.
If you are still experiencing the same issues after the restarts, please try restoring your device from a backup using this help article: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup. If you do not have a current backup, please try this help article: If you can‘t update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch . Please pay close attention when you reach step 4 which says "When you see the option to Restore or Update, choose Update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data." to get your iOS reinstalled. Test if the issue is still occurring.
Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.

HI Allen,

Appreciate your reply, I have tried all ways including what you mentioned to be honest.

not just once but at least 3 times. But the problems continue to persist.

i Have asked he people I know who use an iPhone 6 Plus , most of them experience the same problem, including my own wife who is also using an iPhone 6 Plus , her issue is exactly same as mine but the sequence of the issue is less frequent. Same like how my issue first started about 6 months ago.

the hang/freeze issues are less frequent initially, but it gets more frequent over the months that is also the reason why I didn't bring the phone to service center when it was still under warranty. I didn't think it was a big issue thinking it could be some minor bugs going on & was very certain APPLE will fix the bugs when new updates are available.

BUt unfortunately after numerous new updates the issues seem to persisit & infact got worse over time.

I Brought the phone to at least 3 mbile repair shop & all 3 told me I'm not the only one! They have been receiving many iPhone 6 Plus who have exactly the same issue like mine, all the issue relates to the motherboard unfortunately, after repairing the motherboard as claimed by all 3 vendors, the problem is resolved.

SO I would assume the phone itself indeed has quality issue which I'm surprise why APPLE did not inform iphone 6 Plus owners & offer some form of solutions.

The issue has became so frequent that I almost threw away the phone quite a few incident, you can imagine how frusatrating it can get when are on an important call or writing an important email urgently & the phone got "hang"!

Having said that, one of my 3 sons has just change to an iPhone 7 from his old iPhone 5.

My whole family of 5 are die hard APPLE fan & loyal customers since APPLE first launch its first product till now.

I sincerely hope that APPLE will appreciate all their loyal customers & find the best solution to resolve any issues they may face when using any APPLE products to upkeep the good reputation APPLE has built for being the most reliable phone & other APPLE products.

Hello BennyFoo,
Thanks for continuing our troubleshooting for your iPhone freezing here in the Apple Support Communities. We appreciate the chance to finish sorting this out with you.
As always, we want to ensure is that you have a recent backup prior to starting any major troubleshooting. You can make a backup in iCloud or iTunes using this article : How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
The next step then is for you to restore your device back to factory settings using iTunes. This option will erase all the data on your device. Please ensure you have your backup completed prior to doing this step. The reason we need to use iTunes to do this step is because we need iTunes to help install a fresh version of iOS. This help article from Apple will help you to do this step: Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings. Please ensure you set the device up as new, and do not restore any information from an iCloud or iTunes backup yet. This step will isolate the issue and let us know if it is related to the hardware or not.
Once the device is set up as new, you will test to see if the device is still freezing. If this issue is no longer happening, we know the issue was with some data on the device or in the iOS version, which will most likely be saved in your backups. You can manually bring data back using iCloud or iTunes, but do not restore from the backup as you will bring the problem right back in. Once you log back in to iCloud with the same Apple ID that you used previously, all your data saved in iCloud will start repopulating on the device. Depending on whether you have a Mac or PC, you can use one of these two help articles to assist you in getting your music and other data back to your device from iTunes:
1. iTunes 12 for Mac: Sync iPod, iPhone, or iPad
2. iTunes 12 for Windows: Sync iPod, iPhone, or iPad
You can also redownload fresh copies all of your previous purchases using this article: Download your past purchases. Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.
